Kitchen Suppression Systems
Click here to see how a fire suppression system works

Kansas Fire Equipment provides everything you need for your restaurant's fire suppression and range/kitchen hood system. From design through installation, our services reflect an understanding of your facility's special requirements. You'll find our experienced personnel appreciate the importance of meeting your deadlines and minimizing disruptions to your business and staff.

Every system is uniquely designed and specified, taking into account the characteristics of the risk and the premises being protected. Our designers use the most advanced procedures to define each detail of the total system.

Each system is fully tested and approved prior to being turned over to our customer. Over 1,000 times a day, fires ignite in commercial kitchens. The failure of a suppression system to operate properly will prove very costly. With today's high temperature appliances using oil and solid fuels, it's essential that your fire suppression systems stay in good operating condition. That's why so many customers choose Kansas Fire Equipment's service and inspection programs.

Over the years, fire extinguishing agents for kitchen cooking equipment have progressed from C02 and dry powder to wet chemical agents. C02 and dry powder are no longer recognised as suitable mediums as they provide no cooling or post fire security. Dry powder is also very difficult to clean-up. Kansas Fire Equipment is certified to install and service the following brands of fire supression systems.

Amerex
Ansul
Pyrochem
Rangeguard
Kidde

These systems are designed to provide the following:

  • Automatic means of detection using a fusible link detection system
  • Manual means of activation via a pull station
  • Protection includes duct openings, hood plenum areas and all exposed cooking appliances
  • Automatic shutdown interfaces for all appliances
  • Fire alarm interface

Systems comply with UL 300 and all local and state fire codes. All systems are mechanical and stand alone, allowing ease of installation, and reduced test and service time scales. In addition to new construction/kitchens, installations can be carried out on "live" operational kitchens, or during retrofit/refurbishment projects.

Maintenance is minimum with systems inspected, tested and serviced, every 6 months. Our goal is to reduce your risk significantly through education, state of the art hardware, expert installation and ongoing service that provides the best defense against kitchen fire loss.

Kansas Fire Equipment also installs and services industrial fire suppression systems as well as FM200 "clean" suppression systems. Contact Kansas Fire Equipment today to learn more about any of our fire suppression systems, plus related service programs.
